Retrodelphia
Terms & Store Policy
Seller: Retrodelphia LLC d/b/a Retrodelphia
Business address: 190 Timberlane Road, Building 1, Clarksboro, New Jersey 08020
Effective date: September 7, 2026
These terms apply to purchases made directly from Retrodelphia through its website, warehouse, invoice, or another direct sales channel. Marketplace purchases are also subject to the applicable marketplace's terms.
Refund Policy Summary
- Returns are accepted only for an incorrect item, damage during Retrodelphia-arranged delivery, a material discrepancy from the agreed description, a missed delivery deadline when cancellation rights apply, or another circumstance required by law.
- A change of mind, an item not fitting the customer's space, or ordinary characteristics of vintage merchandise do not qualify.
- The same policy applies to sale, clearance, discounted, and AS-IS merchandise.
- Proof of purchase is required. An order confirmation, receipt, card record, invoice, or other reasonable evidence may be used.
- Reasonably discoverable damage or discrepancies must be reported as soon as reasonably possible and within 72 hours after physical delivery.
- Qualifying refunds are issued to the original payment method unless another method is required by law or agreed to by the customer.
- Store credit will not replace a required refund unless the customer affirmatively agrees.
Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
Payment, Reservations, Courtesy Holds, and Availability
Completed payment reserves the purchased item. Placing an item in a cart, requesting a shipping quote, or beginning checkout does not automatically reserve it.
Retrodelphia may, at its discretion, approve a temporary courtesy hold upon request. A courtesy hold must be confirmed in writing and will expire at the time stated in the confirmation unless extended in writing. Unless a hold has been expressly confirmed, or after a confirmed hold expires, the item remains available for sale.
For a long-distance or manual-quote order, the quote request itself does not collect payment. Retrodelphia will provide the proposed shipping price, expected timing, and other material delivery terms before the customer completes the purchase. Once those terms are agreed in writing and payment is completed, the item is reserved.
Because Retrodelphia sells one-of-a-kind pieces across multiple channels, an item may occasionally become unavailable because of a nearly simultaneous sale or inventory error. Retrodelphia may also cancel an order involving an obvious pricing, inventory, technical, or material listing error. In those circumstances, the customer will receive a prompt full refund without deductions.
If Retrodelphia discovers a material condition discrepancy before pickup or delivery, it will disclose the issue. The customer may agree in writing to proceed on revised terms or cancel for a full refund.
Vintage Condition and AS-IS Disclaimer
Photographs show the actual item unless a listing expressly states otherwise. Specific written condition disclosures control over general descriptive language when they clearly identify a condition issue.
Vintage merchandise commonly displays age, wear, repairs, finish variation, fading, oxidation, shrinkage, movement, minor looseness, replaced components, and other evidence of prior use. These ordinary and disclosed characteristics are not defects or material discrepancies.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALL VINTAGE AND PREOWNED ITEMS ARE SOLD AS IS, WITH ALL FAULTS. RETRODELPHIA DISCLAIMS THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND OTHER IMPLIED WARRANTIES THAT MAY LAWFULLY BE DISCLAIMED.
This disclaimer does not eliminate remedies for an incorrect item, damage during Retrodelphia-arranged delivery, a material discrepancy from the agreed description, fraud, or any right that cannot lawfully be waived.
Safety and Intended Use
Vintage items may predate modern electrical, anchoring, flammability, lead-content, tip-over, entrapment, suffocation, and other safety standards. Customers are responsible for determining whether an item is appropriate for their intended location and use.
- Electrical items should be inspected by a licensed electrician before use unless the customer independently chooses otherwise.
- Dressers, cabinets, shelving, and other tip-prone furniture should be properly anchored.
- Vintage finishes, paint, upholstery, and internal materials may not comply with modern standards.
- Vintage storage pieces and furniture should not be treated as safe for children's sleep or unsupervised play unless expressly designed and verified for that use.
- Measurements, access routes, intended placement, anchoring, installation, and continued maintenance are the customer's responsibility.
Retrodelphia does not provide a written warranty or service contract. A truthful listing statement that an item was inspected, rewired, repaired, refinished, or tested describes known work performed; it is not a promise that the item will remain defect-free or meet a specified performance level for any period.
Nothing in these terms authorizes the sale of merchandise whose sale is prohibited by law.
Promised Delivery, Pickup Readiness, and Delays
Each paid regional-delivery order will receive an order-specific promised delivery date no later than 30 calendar days after purchase unless the customer requests and agrees in writing to a later date.
Each scheduled-pickup order will be ready for pickup within three calendar days after purchase unless the customer requests and agrees in writing to a different date. This is the date by which the item will be available for pickup, not the deadline by which the customer must collect it. Pickup remains by confirmed appointment.
Each paid delivery or pickup order will state the order date and the applicable promised delivery or readiness date or period. The sales document will include conspicuously:
THE MERCHANDISE YOU HAVE ORDERED IS PROMISED FOR DELIVERY TO YOU ON OR BEFORE THE DATE SHOWN ON YOUR ORDER CONFIRMATION.
It will also state:
IF THE MERCHANDISE IS NOT DELIVERED BY THE PROMISED DELIVERY DATE, RETRODELPHIA MUST OFFER YOU THE CHOICE OF (1) CANCELING YOUR ORDER WITH A PROMPT, FULL REFUND OF PAYMENTS YOU HAVE MADE, OR (2) ACCEPTING DELIVERY AT A SPECIFIC LATER DATE.
If Retrodelphia cannot meet the promised date, it will provide written notice before that deadline and offer the required choice.
For an online order subject to federal shipment rules, a stated ship-by promise controls. If no ship-by time is stated, the federal default is generally 30 days to place the merchandise in the courier's possession.
Where applicable law requires affirmative consent to a delay—such as an indefinite delay, a revised ship date more than 30 days beyond the original deadline, or a renewed delay—silence will not be treated as consent. Retrodelphia will automatically cancel and fully refund the unshipped order when required consent is not received.
A later date requested and agreed to by the customer, including a customer-requested hold, is not a Retrodelphia-caused delay and will be documented in writing.
Customer Cancellations Before Receipt
Cancellation charges apply only to voluntary customer cancellations. They do not apply when Retrodelphia cancels, misses a legally protected delivery deadline, sends the wrong item, materially misdescribes the item, delivers it damaged, or when a full refund is otherwise required by law.
Before a courier is booked
Retrodelphia will refund the merchandise price and any unused delivery charge. It may deduct only the exact payment-processing fee the payment processor actually retains, if the fee was incurred, is not returned to Retrodelphia, and the deduction is lawful.
No restocking fee applies at this stage.
After a courier is booked but before the item leaves the warehouse
Retrodelphia will refund the remaining balance after deducting:
- the exact nonreturned payment-processing fee, if applicable and lawful; and
- documented, nonrecoverable courier cancellation, crating, or other customer-authorized fulfillment costs already incurred.
No percentage restocking fee applies before warehouse release.
After the item leaves the warehouse but before completed delivery
Cancellation requires Retrodelphia's agreement because transportation is already in progress. A refund may be reduced by:
- documented, nonrecoverable delivery, courier, crating, return-to-warehouse, and related costs;
- the exact nonreturned processing fee, if applicable and lawful; and
- a handling and restocking charge not exceeding 10% of the merchandise price.
After completed delivery
Preference-based returns are not accepted. The remedies for an incorrect item, delivery damage, material description discrepancy, or nonwaivable legal right remain available.
Delivery and processing charges will never be deducted from a refund that applicable law or this policy requires to be a full refund.
Retrodelphia-Arranged Delivery
Retrodelphia arranges delivery through independent third-party couriers and requires the couriers it hires to maintain cargo and liability coverage appropriate to their work. Retrodelphia retains the risk of loss or damage to the merchandise until physical delivery is completed.
Customers must provide accurate access information and ensure that the item and delivery crew can safely clear the access route at the delivery location.
A customer-caused failed delivery includes:
- no authorized recipient being present;
- refusal without a qualifying condition claim;
- unsafe or unsuitable access;
- the item being unable to clear a doorway, hallway, stairway, elevator, or other access route at the delivery location; or
- materially inaccurate or incomplete access information.
The customer remains responsible for the original delivery and return-to-warehouse costs resulting from a customer-caused failed delivery. Any redelivery must be separately quoted and paid before the new trip.
Scheduled Pickup
Pickup is by confirmed appointment at Retrodelphia's Clarksboro warehouse. Unless another date is agreed in writing, an item will be ready for scheduled pickup within three calendar days after purchase.
Customers or their authorized agents should inspect the item before accepting it. Risk of loss and responsibility for later damage pass when the item is accepted and loaded for removal.
Any staff assistance with loading is provided as a courtesy. Except for liability that cannot lawfully be limited, the customer assumes the risks associated with vehicle suitability, securing the load, transportation, unloading, and damage occurring after possession is accepted.
Retrodelphia may require a short signed or electronic pickup acknowledgment identifying the item, pickup date, visible condition, person accepting possession, and policy version.
Pickup Deadlines and Storage
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, customers should complete pickup by the agreed pickup date.
A 30-day grace period begins after that agreed pickup date. If no pickup date was documented, the grace period begins when Retrodelphia sends written notice that the item is ready.
Retrodelphia will provide written notice before paid storage begins. The notice will identify the item, the start date, and the storage rate. The rate will not exceed the lesser of:
- $300 for each 30-day storage period; or
- 10% of the merchandise price for each 30-day storage period.
Paid storage may continue for no more than 90 days unless Retrodelphia agrees otherwise in writing.
If an item remains uncollected after that period, Retrodelphia may send a final written notice providing at least 15 additional days to arrange pickup and pay accrued charges. If the customer still does not act, the customer authorizes Retrodelphia to exercise remedies permitted by law, which may include resale or other lawful disposition.
There is no automatic forfeiture of the customer's financial interest. If the item is resold, Retrodelphia will account for the net proceeds after accrued storage charges and reasonable resale or disposition costs and will make any remaining balance available to the customer as required by law.
Paid customer items remain insured while in Retrodelphia's custody awaiting pickup. If a paid item is lost, stolen, destroyed, or materially damaged while it remains in Retrodelphia's custody before pickup, the customer may agree in writing to an appropriate alternative remedy or cancel for a full refund of the merchandise price, refundable tax, paid delivery charges, and paid storage charges. Any insurance claim or coverage determination does not reduce the customer's rights under this paragraph.
Delivery Damage, Incorrect Items, and Material Discrepancies
When practical, customers should inspect an item while the courier is present and immediately tell the courier about visible damage.
For reasonably discoverable damage or discrepancies, the customer must contact Retrodelphia as soon as reasonably possible and within 72 hours after physical delivery. The report should:
- describe the issue;
- include photographs of the item and affected areas;
- include photographs of any packaging, wrapping, crating, or protective materials; and
- provide the order number or other reasonable proof of purchase.
Reports and photographs may be submitted by text to (267) 274-8755, by email to contact@retrodelphia.com, or through the contact form.
Until the claim is resolved, the customer should not repair, alter, discard, refinish, use, or arrange independent return transportation for the item and should preserve available packaging and protective materials.
The 72-hour period does not eliminate rights involving a condition that could not reasonably have been discovered within that period or a right that cannot lawfully be waived.
A material discrepancy is an objective, significant difference between the item received and the agreed listing or sales document. It does not include disclosed wear, ordinary vintage characteristics, minor measurement variations, reasonable differences in photographed or screen-displayed colors, subjective dissatisfaction, buyer's remorse, or an accurately measured item not fitting the customer's space.
For a qualifying incorrect item, delivery-damage claim, or material discrepancy, the customer may:
- accept the item with a mutually agreed repair, adjustment, or partial refund; or
- reject the item and receive a full refund.
A full qualifying refund includes the merchandise price, refundable sales tax, and the original delivery charge. Retrodelphia will arrange and pay for required return transportation.
Refund Processing
Approved refunds will be initiated through the original payment method within three days after approval and no later than seven working days when that federal deadline applies.
Square and the customer's card issuer may require additional processing time. Square currently advises that card refunds can take approximately 4–14 business days to appear after initiation.
If the original payment method cannot receive the refund, Retrodelphia and the customer will arrange a lawful alternative. A required refund will not be replaced with store credit without the customer's agreement.
Sales Tax
Retrodelphia collects and remits sales tax where required by applicable law. Tax that must be returned as part of a qualifying refund will be included in that refund.
Customer Support Texts and Privacy
Texts and photographs sent to (267) 274-8755 are used for customer-initiated order support and claim documentation. Message and data rates may apply.
Sending an order-support text does not enroll the customer in promotional text messaging. Any marketing consent will be requested separately, will be optional, and will not be a condition of purchase.
Messages, photographs, and personal information are handled according to Retrodelphia's Privacy Policy.
Marketplace Purchases
Purchases made through Etsy, eBay, Chairish, 1stDibs, or another marketplace remain subject to that marketplace's rules, checkout disclosures, and dispute procedures. This policy applies only to the extent it does not conflict with mandatory marketplace terms or applicable law.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RETRODELPHIA IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL ECONOMIC OR PROPERTY DAMAGES ARISING FROM A DIRECT PURCHASE, ITEM, STORAGE, PICKUP, LOADING, DELIVERY, INSTALLATION, OR USE.
FOR DIRECT ECONOMIC LOSS OR PROPERTY DAMAGE THAT MAY LAWFULLY BE LIMITED, RETRODELPHIA'S TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE MERCHANDISE PRICE AND DELIVERY CHARGES PAID FOR THE AFFECTED ITEM.
These limitations do not apply to death or personal injury; fraud; willful misconduct; recklessness or gross negligence; product-liability or consumer-protection rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be limited; the refunds and remedies expressly provided by this policy; or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing Law and Venue
These terms and direct purchases are governed by New Jersey law, without eliminating any consumer protection that applicable law does not permit the parties to waive.
Subject to a valid small-claims option and any nonwaivable jurisdiction or venue right, an action arising from a direct purchase must be brought in a state court in Gloucester County, New Jersey. If federal jurisdiction applies, the action must be brought in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Either party may bring an eligible claim in a small-claims court having lawful jurisdiction.
Acceptance, Changes, and Severability
The policy version presented and accepted at the time of purchase governs that order.
Retrodelphia may change this policy prospectively by publishing a revised version and effective date. A later revision does not retroactively change an existing order unless Retrodelphia and the customer agree in writing or applicable law requires it.
If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary. The remaining provisions will continue in effect.
The checkout acknowledgment, completed payment, signed sales document, or acceptance of a direct invoice confirms the customer's acceptance of the policy presented before the sale.
