Shipping, delivery, and pickup
Retrodelphia ships throughout the 48 lower U.S. states, with most furniture deliveries handled by trusted independent couriers. We try to keep shipping practical and fairly priced while still protecting vintage pieces in transit.
At checkout, buyers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland can choose free warehouse pickup or the regional delivery rate assigned to the piece. For other U.S. destinations, and for pieces that require special handling, choose Request a shipping quote. A quote request does not collect payment or reserve the piece; we will contact you with timing and the exact cost before the purchase is completed.
Warehouse Pickup
Local pickup is free, but it must be scheduled and confirmed in advance. The warehouse is not staffed continuously, so please do not arrive without an appointment.

Courier Delivery
Most larger items ship by independent courier. This often costs less than blanket freight or white-glove shipping, but timing depends on route coverage.
FedEx Or USPS
Small table lamps, nesting tables, vanity stools, small benches, and compact novelty items may ship by parcel carrier when they can be packed safely.
Zone 1 Pricing Area
Zone 1 includes Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. The applicable $195, $250, $350, or $500 regional rate is shown at checkout for most furniture. Zone 1 buyers usually see the quickest timing, especially within roughly 100 miles of our Clarksboro, NJ location.
Outside Zone 1
NYC-area delivery is often close to Zone 1 pricing, depending on the route. Other lower-48 destinations typically add fees beyond the Zone 1 estimate. Long-distance routes can vary widely; the Pacific Northwest, for example, may only be on a courier route a few times per year.
Possible courier balance at delivery: On some routes, an agreed additional amount beyond the regional base rate may be paid directly to the courier when the piece arrives. We will confirm this in advance if it applies. It is not available for every route, and customers should not pay any unapproved additional charge.
How Courier Delivery Works
Standard courier delivery is not automatically white glove. Room-of-choice placement, stairs, elevators, tight parking, or special handling may add cost, but upgraded service can often be arranged.
Courier delivery is generally closer to curbside or basic drop-off than full white-glove service. If your delivery requires stairs, elevators, room-of-choice placement, difficult parking, tight streets, or an apartment/building delivery window, please mention that when requesting a quote. Those needs may require additional fees and may not be available on every route.
Zone 1 Shipping Estimate Tiers
Small + Lightweight
Anything small enough to fit safely in a box and not too fragile for parcel shipping, including nesting tables, small table lamps, vanity stools, small benches, and small novelty items.
Standard Furniture
Most chairs, side tables, coffee tables, headboards, nightstands, mirrors, and standard lamps.
Medium Case Goods
High chests, sideboards, writing desks, vanities, bachelor chests, and 9-drawer dressers.
Large + Heavy
Sofas, large dressers, heavy sideboards, dining tables with leaves, roll-top desks, and oversized coffee tables.
Oversized + Very Heavy
Stone-top dining tables, executive desks, boomerang sofas, furniture sets, sofa sets, large rare cabinets, and unusually heavy statement pieces.

What Can Move A Quote?
- Weight: Stone tops, solid rosewood, leather-woven pieces, and rattan cabinets often bump up a tier.
- Size: 12-drawer dressers, dining tables with leaves, tambour doors, and extension mechanisms can add weight or bulk.
- Sets: Larger chair sets, especially 8 or more in heavy materials, may move from $195 to $250.
- Fragility: Large glass tops, mirrors, lamps, and original shades may require extra packaging or special handling.
- Distance: Outside Zone 1, the same item may cost more because of route coverage and mileage.
- Delivery access: Stairs, elevators, tight city delivery, limited parking, or room-of-choice placement may affect cost.
A Few Practical Notes
- Vintage furniture: We protect pieces carefully, but these are vintage items, not factory-boxed goods. Normal age, prior use, and restoration history are part of what we sell.
- Buyer availability: Courier delivery depends on phone or text coordination and buyer availability when the courier is close to your area.
- Freight: Freight can sometimes be arranged, but it is usually much more expensive and may require separate crating, handling, or access decisions.
