How Retrodelphia Started

Retrodelphia was first conceived by Pat Tomasiello in 2018 as an Instagram account focused on vintage and modern furniture. What began as a way to share distinctive finds and connect with fellow enthusiasts quickly gained a following, evolving into a trusted source for collectors, designers, decorators, and homeowners seeking pieces with character and history.

Pat, Don, And A Shared Eye For Vintage Furniture

Today, Retrodelphia is run by co-owners Pat and Don, whose work combines a sharp eye for design with deep roots in the antiques trade. Don grew up around the business. His father opened Princeton Antiques on Nassau Street in Princeton in 1964, and Don began learning the trade as a child, surrounded by the buying, selling, sourcing, and restoration side of the antiques business. Before Retrodelphia, Don operated his own successful business, O’Neill’s Antiques, including a space at the Golden Nugget Antique Market in Lambertville, New Jersey, building decades of experience buying, selling, sourcing, and restoring furniture and antiques throughout the region.

Don and Pat had been working together for years before Retrodelphia launched on Instagram in 2018, with Pat gaining hands-on experience in sourcing, buying, and selling vintage furniture while also applying his expertise in social media and online marketing to help grow the business. As Retrodelphia’s Instagram following grew, Pat developed the business’s focus on modern and mid-century inventory, while Don brought decades of antiques experience, sourcing knowledge, and restoration expertise. Together, they helped shape Retrodelphia into a business focused on vintage furniture that is both design-forward and approachable.

From Sourcing To The Showroom

Before Retrodelphia became known as a local destination for vintage furniture, much of the work involved sourcing from estates, house contents, auctions, private collections, and dealer networks. Over time, the business shifted toward a more direct retail model, helping customers find well-sourced vintage furniture without relying solely on third-party marketplaces.

Pat’s Instagram presence helped introduce Retrodelphia to a much wider audience and brought local and national media attention to the business. Retrodelphia has been featured by The Washington Post and was named Philadelphia Magazine’s 2023 Best of Philly winner for “Throwback Furnishings.”

Vintage Furniture With Quality, Design, And Character

Today, Retrodelphia continues to source, restore, and curate vintage furniture with a focus on quality, design, and character. Inventory changes constantly, with pieces ranging from clean-lined mid-century staples to bold statement furniture, lighting, art, and decor.

Visits to the Clarksboro showroom are available by appointment, giving customers time to browse the warehouse, view pieces in person, and find vintage furniture that fits their home, project, or collection.
